There is a promo of Never Knew Your Name on eBay so makes sense. Hopefully it will get some airplay after Xmas.

I emailed Chrissy Boy in his cupboard months ago about the new single. Although he replied too late for the 'My Girl 2' release, he has confirmed 'Never knew your name' as a single to be released in January.

They film a BBC TV show. Called Britains Brightest. In trafalgar. Doing that track. Cus they knew it would be the next single, and that the show would air in early 2013.

They seem to prefer their own single choices as opposed to fans who were keen on "How Can I Tell You" and other singles not released off TLONF
Anybody think it might do better than the lasdt 3 singles that have not really got a chart position at all? My personal view is I can see why they have chosen it. The lyrics are a bit awkward and it takes time to get going. Not a classic by any stretch but I can see why they chose it.

Personally, i skip it on the album in my car (which is STILL on loop). The live version was great, but this just bores me....hope it does well, but just cant see it. Misery or how can i tell you or so alive are just so much more madness and radio friendly in my opinion..jim

To be honest, with the way the charts are these days in all honesty I cant see whatever madness release breaking the top 10 of the singles chart. I can pick loads of songs from the last 3 albums that madness have released I know it sounds harsh but with the lack of decent airplay madness will struggle with singles sales, maybe madness should team up with Olly Murs and re-release it must be love. (oh my god did i just say that? lol) or maybe a collaboration with a current singer might just make people realise madness are still releasing music

I agree that 'How Can I Tell You' would seem a better proposition to get the non die hard fan interested in them and in the album. I do like 'Never knew Your Name' but unfortunately I can't see it doing all that much in the charts. I hope I'm proved wrong.
p.s. Back in the day would 'Burning the Boats' have been a better contender than 'Sweetest Girl?'

p.s. Back in the day would 'Burning the Boats' have been a better contender than 'Sweetest Girl?' Just about anything on the album would have been a better choice as a single. I remember something being mentioned before that not even everyone in the band wanted to even record Sweetest Girl, never mind release it as a single.
