Many years ago when I was younger and the band also younger I watched them filming a scene for the Young Ones which was filmed here in Bristol. They were like me then full of energy and much madness.
Last year at Butlins on Sunday afternoon I bumped into Suggs. We had a very long chat and a few photo's. Bearing in mind he was still out from the night before and a bit worse for wear he is still a genuine bloke and found the time to talk to a fan who after all is paying their wages.

never met the band, but Chrissy Boy has replied to several questions on madness website and I've exchanged a number of tweets with bedders who seems a top guy. They all seem pretty approachable guys to be fair.

I`ve met most of the band with the exception of Barso and Graham Bush. I did an interview with Bedders over skype for my radio show which can still be heard on www.mixcloud.com/krystalradio and there is also an interview with Nicky Woodgate too on there too which I have done.

I briefly met Chris on the Friday before Madstock in 1992--he signed my absolutely cd...i could hardly speak with him as ii was so nervous...think he thought i was a bit simple.. I met chas at the dangermen sessions at The dublin castle, helped him set up a table for selling cd's...nice guy. I met Woody at the same event, but it was in the bathrooms and so i just said, hi....felt odd chatting when he trying to pee! Missed opportunity. Jim

Met them all on this tour,it was a short meet, but they were all very nice, they took time to sign a couple of things and a picture. Woody kept telling my daughter not to say sorry(she was as nervous as me). Had a chat with them all. I was worried because of that old saying never meet your idols....what a load of old rubbish. Would like to take this opportunity to thank them for making the time and a very enjoyable concert(probably the best yet).

Have only "really" met Woody and LJT - swapped brief words with CB once at the Folgate Launch Party - but have always found the band to be very approachable and have never heard anyone say anything different. Woody I met backstage at Brixton one year and he stood and chatted to us for a while before politely excusing himself as he had to be elsewhere. LJT I met outside the Hackney gigs and stood and chatted to him for about an hour during which time the topics of conversation covered just about everything apart from Madness!!

Saw the band live 5 times, saw Suggs upclose as he watched Scarlet n Viva at Madstock 5, but bottled at approaching him as he was constantly approached by other fans while he tried to see his girls perform. Met Lee though in Rotterdam on the tube of all places, which I found on one hand amazing but also very pleasing to see how "normal" these fellas are. I mean travelling on the tube with your family to your own gig. It baffled me and yet made me very proud of my favourite band who are so famous yet so grounded. I stepped up to Lee and we had a very nice conversion as we walked up to the venue (Ahoy in Rotterdam in 2002). He was very approachable and genuinely interested in me as a fan from Holland. Too bad though most phones (if any) had a camera built in or I would've definitely capture that moment in a photograph. I would like to meet the rest of the band one day and in particular Barso since he lived in Amsterdam for years and can speak Dutch. I'm no sycophantic fan but these fellas play a very large part in my life and mean a whole lot to me and I such wanna say thanks for a the good times and memories. I really love Madness and I'm so glad they're still around doing what they do best....putting a smile on our faces!
