100 signed CDs on the merchandise stall at each gig is pretty cool. Hope I get one.

Anyone going to the "Charge" Tour is in for a treat!! I have seen MADNESS over a dozen times over the years and they seem to be getting better and better each time, last night being no exception. The show was not sold out, however i would estimate a crowd of around 10,000 Were in attendance last night ( not bad for a Wednesday night), And Madness did not dissappoint. From what i can recall, this was the set list on the night, (i had a few "Scoops" as you do at a MADNESS Gig!!) One step beyond The prince Embarrasment My girl 2 Never knew your name How can i tell you Kitchen floor Leon Misery Death of a rude boy Bed & breakfast man My girl It must be love Shut up Grey day Our house Baggy trousers Wings of a dove House of fun Michael caine Night boat to cairo Madness Oh yea, and Chrissey boy doing his Beastie boys impression !!! Here,s to the next time

Guid stuff Prende and thanks for the info.
7 songs from the latest album!!! ;D That's a great change to the setlist and a smashing push for the new material. Dead surprised that there's no songs from Folgate, but happy to be surprised by what that band have chosen.
Looking forward to Newcastle and Glasgow...keep the reviews coming in people!

The Dug

Someone has posted elsewhere that the set in Dublin was very short.
How long we're the lads onstage?

They were having a great time interacting with the crowd, and were in Top form.. and as Dug said, 22 songs was a Great nights work !! Iwas delighted they played all the New songs, and i,m glad to say, they were really well recieved by the crowd. It was great to see a lot of kids being brought by their parents.. Great night at Nottinham wasn't a sell out but looked prety close too me. Slight change in the set list with take it or leave it returning and grey day was included again . Wings of a dove appeared quite early in the set and death of a rude boy appeared in the encore. Thommo managed too completly tear his trousers , he left the stage and reappeard wearing a dressing gown and than chucked the trousers into the crowd .Showtime featured the robin hood song , CB said he was going too di it again in Sheffield this evening and see how it went there ,although the band are actualy playing in Liverpool lol.

Word is Grey Day, Take It Or Leave It and Michael Caine got an airing last night.....seems that they're mixing up the set list a little each night on this tour.....which is a good thing IMHO

I`m all for the change as it is refreshing.

Think you'll find the majority of fans in attendance probably don't give two hoots that they've missed out on one set list in favour of another.....it's only the die hards that would be bothered and they/we are very much in the minority....

Had a great time at the Glasgow gig! The boys were on form as usual! Chrissy Boy began Showtime with AC/DCs Highway to hell which went down well!

Been away, awa'...oot the country, but noo I've returned!
The Newcastle gig was terrific. This was the first venue I ever seen Madness live back in the '90s and it was great to return.
Smashing to hear the new songs live and in my opinion they sit perfectly with the other songs in the setlist. A wee bit surprised there were no songs from Folgate, but that's maybe a good thing. Let them have a rest for a bit, then bring them back at a later date. To hear Michael Caine was a nice surprise and makes me hope that other lesser played tracks will continue to appear at future gigs.
Regarding Glasgow two nites later.......absolutely immense.
I had been at the last two Madness gigs in Glasgow at the smaller (2000 capacity) O2 Academy the last couple of years and they were some of the best live gigs I've ever attended. I didn't have any doubts that Madness would be as good returning to the five times larger S.E.C.C. (but when you've seen them at a smaller gig, it's difficult to not want to always see them at the wee venues).
The setlist was the same as Newcastle and if anything the new songs sounded even better. I'm starting to wonder if the latest album could possibly be Madness' most listenable album...certainly live, the songs scream out to hit repeat!!!
All in all another great couple of gigs and absolute nonsense with Mr Dankdonk and other nefarious persons.......London on Saturday???

The Dug
