Butlins

Haven't seen a thread dedicated to the upcoming Butlins weekend, so thought I'd start one.

Anyone going?

I'm not confirmed yet, but working on a few cunning plans to be there which will hopefully come together.

Have to confess to being somewhat underwhelmed about the line up so far but for me a weekend like this is as much about meeting friends old and new and spending some quality social time with them over and above a quick pint before a gig.

I shall be attending Butlins , hope you get too go Graham as it would be good too see you again. I am not overwelmed either by the other acts but it will be a great social event spent with some great people. I went last year and really enjoyed it.

I'm not going but it's sold out and I hope you have a top time. The Skints are a top band too.

Simon....I thought it was sold out too....till I checked the Butlins website last night and they appear to have spaces available again....so not sure if they just suspended taking more bookings for a couple of weeks....

....that said I haven't actually booked anything yet as waiting to see if a friend can upgrade their booking to include me....so who knows...

Hi graham, I don't know categorically that its sold out just that the weekender FB page said it was. However I went online and it seemed to me that they were still offering tickets. I hope you get to go and have an amazing weekend.

I spoke to them today and they still have a number of "room" deals going - unfortunately didn't work for what I was hoping to work out, but still working the angles.

For example they had a two bedroom (3 or 4 person) place going for £450 odd - so £150 each - with a food option at either £15 or £20 a day extra per person.

They've got no apartment with kitchen spaces left though.

It did all go sold out a few weeks back when I was first in a position to book - but these spaces appeared this week - suspect perhaps they've had returns from agents and the like that they're trying to flog.

I think someone on facebook is trying to sell a 2 birth room. Graham.

It's like yeah a worse line up than last year by miles. Though im loving swagga LTSO being on their. But it's far too DJ heavy for my liking. But as I know a weekend in a hotel with fans and only a tribute band has brought the best of times before, for similar money, Im still massively looking forward to everything.

I can't wait for Butlins mainly to catch up with people I have never seen for a long time and seeing Lee Thompson's Ska Orchestra live for the second time. I might even partake in a few sociable drinks :-)

So hopefully fingers mega crossed. Circus Freaks. and even small world / leon this time.

Hope so.

Saturday more general tour set for the charge of the mad brigade era. Hits and bits.
