La Luna is now the 5th single to be released - why are they milking this album when the singles are mainly irrelevant (apart from the mini triumph of Never Knew Your name)?
And La Luna is hardly a fans favourite - it is not really a single either. Odd choice don't you think?
We Madness fans like to dream and we know that single success is not possible anymore but if the band HAD released Never Knew Your name as the first single - as originally intended - would it have been top 40?

Well if you include Death of a Rude boy it's the 6th. They would never have reached the top 40 singles chart regardless of what they released but I don't believe that is why they are issuing singles now. As you say singles are irrelevant to a band like Madness now but they are a great promotional tool for an album which is what these releases are all about, increasing album sales.Releasing La Luna now, allows them to promote the House of Fun weekender plus other side projects I guess. To be honest, I think the promo for this album has been great. I like the fact the album wasn't all over within a week and they have kept promoting it.

No doubt boosted by the Strictly appearance, the single has made an incredible jump from 92,000 to number 83 on Amazon!
I guess it is shortlived but good nevertheless...
