Legendary Madness Musical ‘Our House’ comes to Balsall Common Posted on June 13, 2013
Balsall Common drama group Centre Stage have taken on their biggest and most ambitious production to date with the Madness inspired West End musical “Our House’, which runs at the Heart of England School in late June.
The event aims to build on the success of recent ambitious works such as the acclaimed self-penned Abba-influenced production “Gimme Gimme Gimme … an Idea ” and their reproduction of West End hit Calendar Girls. Centre Stage Chairman Carl Hemming explained a bit more about the production that includes the Madness hits Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, Driving in My Car and My Girl:
“After last year’s success we wanted to rise to the challenge and perform this magnificent successful Tim Firth musical Production.
“The musical follows the story of a young boy Joe Casey who has just turned 16 and in his bid to impress the girl of his dreams, Sarah, he breaks into a building site and is caught by the Police. It is at this point in the show where Joe Casey has to make a life changing decision to either hand himself in or run away. The show then splits into two, following the path of the good and Bad Joe.”
